My three-year-old immediately started making up stories for each letter's hidden objects, so it's both an alphabet lesson and an imagination workout. The lack of words makes him really study the award-winning illustrations closely.

My daughter is three and mostly ignored alphabet books until this one. Because there are no words, I just point at the pictures and she makes up her own stories around each letter. The illustrations really are as lovely as everyone says, and I've caught her flipping through it alone on the couch.

The illustrations are definitely award-worthy, but I wish there were text prompts for parents. My toddler loves flipping through it, though I end up making up stories for each letter.
