The cheerful repetition and catchy rhythm keep my preschooler engaged from the first page, and the sturdy board book format holds up well to daily reading.

My kid loves the part where Pete sings his song through the library and lunchroom—it's become our car-ride anthem. The illustrations are bright enough that even my two-year-old stays engaged for the whole story. We've read it three nights in a row now and I'm not even tired of it yet.
