My three-year-old can snap these onto her art paper all by herself, and she loves linking them together into a long chain. They're sturdy enough that I don't worry about them breaking, and they definitely help build hand strength.

I bought these for my toddler's art projects and they really do help with fine motor skills—the spring mechanism is light enough for her to press. They hold paper to her easel without slipping, which is a win. Only wish they came in a bigger pack for the price.
