Take a peek into Olivia's very busy life of singing, painting and building sand castles along side her annoying brother, Ian. Selected by the American Library Association each year for their outstanding artwork, this award-winning classic book, Olivia, is beautifully illustrated.
My daughter borrowed this from the library and I had to buy our own copy—the illustrations are so vivid, and the sibling dynamic between Olivia and Ian feels hilariously real. It's earned its ALA spot for sure.
I've read this to my daughter three nights in a row and she still giggles at Ian's antics every time. The ALA recognition is well-deserved because the story feels so real and lively, like we're peeking into Olivia's actual day. Perfect for keeping a busy little one engaged before bed.
