The illustrations in this hardcover are genuinely stunning—my kid kept asking to flip back to the double-page spreads. It's an ALA pick for good reason, and the story's held up through at least a dozen bedtime readings.
The story is a lot of fun to read aloud, and my 6-year-old asks for it repeatedly. I just wish the pages were a bit sturdier for how much we flip through them, but the artwork is genuinely beautiful.
