The non-slip tread allows feet to remain firmly planted while allowing children to get the extra height they need to reach sinks or drinking fountains. The curved side is designed to fit the base of a toilet for bathroom use.
My daughter uses it every morning to brush her teeth, and the non-slip tread keeps her steady even when her hands are soapy. The curved side hugs the base of our sink cabinet so snugly that it doesn't wobble at all when she steps up.
The curved side fits perfectly against our kitchen island base, which was a pleasant surprise. My 4-year-old uses it to reach the sink, and the non-slip tread keeps her steady—though I wish it were a bit taller for when she grows.
