My third-grader actually asked to do these on a road trip instead of playing on his tablet. The fill-in-the-blank format makes him think about parts of speech without realizing he's learning. Finished half the book before we even hit the highway.

My nephew is picky about books, but this one had him laughing while choosing words for the basketball sentences. The "Wow! Interjection!" section was a clever way to sneak in grammar practice during a car ride.

My kids enjoyed the basketball theme, and it was a good way to practice parts of speech without it feeling like homework. The fill-in-the-blank format is fun, but the humor fell a little flat for my middle schooler—it felt more aimed at younger fans.
