I love how the story shows the garden transforming from just a few plants into a whole neighborhood of color. My son asked to read it again the same night, which is rare for us.

Liam's quiet determination to nurture that first patch of green really resonated with my daughter—she started watering our houseplants every morning. The illustrations capturing the garden's slow spread through the gray city are beautifully understated.

My son asked me to read this every night for a week — he loves watching Liam's little garden slowly spread across the city. The way the gray turns green page by page makes it feel hopeful without being preachy.
