The wooden gears fit onto the pegs really smoothly, and my son loves watching how turning one makes another spin. It keeps him focused much longer than I expected.

My 3-year-old figured out the cause and effect aspect within minutes, which was a fun surprise. The mix-and-match shapes with the wooden gears keep her focused for much longer than I expected.

The pegged base is solid enough that my toddler can jam the gears on without everything tipping over, and watching him figure out which shape block fits where before the gear turns is genuinely satisfying. He's gone back to it every day this week, which is rare for any toy in our house.
